The mission of the department is to provide:

  • To produce Excellent Engineers in Electronics & Communication and Instrumentation fields.
  • Integrated environment for students to interact with industry & government agencies.
  • Appropriate placement in the companies. 
  • Environment for research in multidisciplinary area of technology.

Every period in human history has witnessed dissemination of information, control of a process to assure consistency and transmission in receiving data and its processing while maintaining its integrity. It is very difficult to talk about expertise because life long learning is the requirement that every professional must have. We have to perpetually be a seeker of knowledge to update our skills. Our division of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control & Communication Engineering while teaching various subjects, also assures that each student has a solid foundation on which to build upon throughout their professional career.

At RGEC we have a few Industry firsts like the following:

VLSI-Digital System Design Laboratories: This laboratory is functioning under the Head of the Department and has several faculty members who form a core design team. We teach all aspects of VLSI technology including CMOS, Verilog, VHDL as a means to express design and the entire design protocol. This would include design verification, test generation, and test ability issues and the complete turnkey process. Signal Processing Lab is very well equipped with TI C54X/C55X series processor and Analog devices Visuals DSP development kits. We are constantly encouraging our students and faculty to supplement and learn skills in this field. This skill would guarantee them a career in multinational companies such as IBM, INTEL, HP, ST, TI and the like.

Computer Architecture/Parallel Processing Laboratory: This laboratory provides a forum for advanced studies in this field and every effort is made to bring the result with additional learning in the classrooms.

Optical Fiber and SONET Design: This is the latest area of advanced studies and research that has been incorporated in this division. We need not emphasize how relevant it is to prepare engineers for modern jobs.
